{"id":415,"date":"2010-02-01T16:17:24","date_gmt":"2010-02-01T20:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/?p=415"},"modified":"2010-02-01T16:17:24","modified_gmt":"2010-02-01T20:17:24","slug":"recycled-chunky-crayons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catchick6creations.interiority.org\/?p=415","title":{"rendered":"Recycled Chunky Crayons&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aa.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01aa.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aa.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01aa.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aa.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01aa.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, I saw this great project for recycled chunky crayons from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.makeandtakes.com\/recycled-chunky-crayons\">makesandtakes <\/a>website.\u00a0 I decided we just had to do it.\u00a0 It looked like a lot of fun.\u00a0 So, first I had to go out and buy some candy molds..since I didn&#8217;t have any.\u00a0 We found some fun ones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aaa.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01aaa.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aaa.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01aaa.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01aaa.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01aaa.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next, we had to start breaking up the crayons. \u00a0 I thought we had a million broken crayons without the paper&#8230;but I was surpised how quickly we ran out of them. So, I had to start taking the paper off all the crayons&#8230;and that was not fun!\u00a0 It got tough..some of the paper was almost glued on the crayons!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01b.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01b.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01b.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01b.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01b.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01b.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had to break out a knife and start cutting the paper off!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01d.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01d.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01d.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01d.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01d.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01d.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But River had a great time breaking up the crayons into tiny pieces.\u00a0 She got very good at it&#8230;and in no time at all&#8230;we had the molds filled!\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t want to do all 24 hearts..I thought that was a bit too many&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01e.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01e.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01e.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01e.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01e.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01e.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once we had the molds filled&#8230;we followed the directions and put them in the oven at 225 degrees for about 10 minutes.\u00a0\u00a0 They came out perfect&#8230;&#8230;we didn&#8217;t swirl them anymore&#8230;they seemed great just the way they were&#8230;some of the crayons were metallic..so those had a neat look to them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01f.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01f.JPG\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01f.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01f.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01f.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01f.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We waited for them to cool..which was the hard part!\u00a0 Once they were cool&#8230;.we poked them out of the molds&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01g.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01g.JPG\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01g.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01g.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And finally River got to color with them!\u00a0 It was a lot of fun.\u00a0 Now, my ten year old wants to do it!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01h.JPG\" title=\"2010-02-01h.JPG\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gargoyle:8011\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/2010-02-01h.JPG\" alt=\"2010-02-01h.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So, I saw this great project for recycled chunky crayons from the makesandtakes website.\u00a0 I decided we just had to do it.\u00a0 It looked like a lot of fun.\u00a0 So, first I had to go out and buy some candy molds..since I didn&#8217;t have any.\u00a0 We found some fun ones.
